MABRIE JEANNE ORMES 

Art is the fulcrum of my life. It gives me purpose, meaning, and joy. As a full-time working artist for nearly 40 years, I have explored several media: watercolor, pastels, acrylic, various kinds of printmaking, and drawing. Currently oil paint is my medium because of its rich color range, textural adeptness and finished beauty. I like to work outdoors and I also use photographic sources. In one body of work, I visually interpret music. I intend in my work to celebrate painting, creativity, nature, and life itself, with a special interest in developing the concept of the female point of view. To the extent that it differs from that of the male, it is a source of new insights and actions regarding current issues.
