Mabrie Ormes - Big Red Sunflower Cluster
#2-Big Red Sunflower is composed of 15 separate oil-painted and varnished canvases arranged together in a piece or “cluster”, that measures 105 inches high by 64 inches wide. It is a SHOW-STOPPER and will make any large wall memorable. A “cluster” presents one subject from several points of view. It is part painting and part sculpture. Originally the idea came to me when I wanted to make large works and had no place to store them. Now I choose this format for its versatility and the surprises it has to offer. Big Red Sunflower will arrive on your doorstep in a medium-sized box, which I have constructed myself and which boasts a double wall and lots of bubblewrap. I will handle and ship it to you for no extra charge.
