Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia, I moved to Seattle with my family in 1996. A biologist by profession, I started bead weaving as a self-taught hobby in 2012 and have since grown passionate about the practice. I tend to think outside of the box, and consistently craft original one-of-a-kind works. My design ideas can spring from any aspect of my lived experience, such as nature, compelling color juxtapositions in textiles, paintings, or other visual art. My primary medium is seed beads, mainly using the techniques known as peyote and herringbone stitches. I have recently started learning and using openwork techniques that were popular in traditional Russian bead weaving. My work has been exhibited in Shack Art Center in Everett, WA, and A/NT Gallery in Seattle, WA. I have also been a participating artist in the Shoreline Art Festival, PNA Winter Festival & Crafts Fair, Urban Craft Uprising, and Best of Northwest in 2017-2020.
