SUSI MATZKE - MATZKE DESIGNS
Matzke Designs evolved into a full-time business when two creatives with different, yet complimentary, aesthetics got married and began a life together as collaborative artists. Aaron’s almost 30 years of home remodeling and carpentry experience developed his eye for detail and interior design. His love and appreciation for American history, specifically farm and industrial artifacts, inspired him to create unique decor such as chandeliers from barn trolleys and clocks made with seed plates connected to the Haymarket Riots of 1886.
Susi’s journey of creating began with hand sewing doll clothes and grew into a love of learning new skills from weaving to digital design laser work. Creating was always the best way to decompress after work. Moving to Bend, she decided it was time to make it a full-time gig instead of just a weekend hobby. Creating unique artwork mixing different materials is our specialty. It might be a concrete frame and 100-year-old wood lathe, laser cut cast acrylic and walnut, or hand painted Baltic birch and stainless steel.
