I created this sculpture using a combination of black annealed wire and brass wire. I designed it with multiple layers of various size orbs to create a depth that pulls the viewer in. I was inspired by the notion that each of us has the potential to discover what shines within us and no matter how deep that quality is or how many layers cover it a true brilliance emerges.
The layers transfer interesting shadows in all levels of light. It will make a striking statement in any decor.
I create my sculptures using a looping technique I learned in a workshop hosted by the Japanese American Museum in Los Angeles during the 2007 show of Ruth Asawa’s work.
