Lee H. Rentz - PORTAL
Sometimes a photograph will come to me completely unexpectedly. We were walking around an an old salmon cannery on the British Columbia coast that has been preserved as a museum. We saw canning machinery and docks and rooms where nets were once repaired, but there were also old houses where Japanese, first nations, and white workers lived. In one of these houses I was struck by this door, which contrasts wonderfully with the light coming in from outside to illuminate the colorful walls. An unexpected burst of color in a most unlikely place.
