Rosalind Philips - Shorebirds in High Key
Mid-April to Mid-May is shorebird migration on the Washington Coast. My favorite place to photograph them is Bottle Beach State Park on the way to Westport. I recently took a class on high key photography and have been practicing the technique. High key is when the background is overexposed but the subject stands out clearly. This is one of my experiments. The shore birds are short-billed dowitchers, dunlin and western sandpipers. This is available as a semi-gloss metal print or as a canvas. I can see this as a large piece over a couch or fireplace.
