I’m a Seattle based printmaker specializing in copper plate etchings. My work is nature focused, particularly on portraits of animals. Making the prints is very methodical and focused and the old school physicality of the prints is really enjoyable in person. The images are press embossed into thick, textured cotton paper and the ink has a lovely richness to it. I like to look very deeply at my subjects and build their likenesses through many fine lines. As the pandemic has caused the group studio in which I work to temporarily close for safety, I’ve been trying something new and have designed and researched four irreverent advent style calendars using digital drawing and printing methods. If you’re interested in mythology, mixology or spooky cinema, these might be right up your alley. It’s been a fun diversion for me to make during a dark time and I hope they’ll be a fun diversion for others to use.
