My husband and I started making handcrafted leathergoods nearly 50 years ago. When he decided to take a “regular” job, I gave myself permission to play. The result is one of a kind or limited production handbags that are truly wearable art. I enjoy making quality leather-goods that last for years out of quality materials. I use glove-soft naked finish or lightly finished leather, solid brass hardware, durable nylon packcloth linings and stitch with nylon thread.
Each piece is created entirely by me, from concept and pattern making to the final stitches, using soft sculpture techniques, applique’ and trapunto. My inspiration comes from many directions; from form and function, from the interplay of colors in the leather and stones, glass and beads or from the challenge of creating the “unexpected” piece. |
