The element of surprise fuels my creativity. I create fused glass decorative plates and jewelry with components that are somewhat unpredictable in what their final appearance will be. My fusings combine glass embellished with silver foil in the heat of the kiln and the chemical reaction transforms them, resulting in new colors. But there are many variables that can affect the outcome which keeps me coming back to see what new things will happen. I have also been fusing with Dichroic glass for many years. This glass has similar unpredictability and the colors and sparkle are irresistible. The jewelry pieces are selected from the best parts of the results of both of these materials.
