We make well researched marks on leather. Illuminated letters, knotwork, and patterns, drawn from antiquity, executed in acrylic paint on hand tooled leather. Our images are inspired by ancient illuminated manuscripts and decorated objects found in libraries and museums worldwide. Our inspirations range from Hiberno-Saxon illuminated manuscripts to Iron Age artifacts. Our work is executed on leather using thousands of tiny tool marks, painted with tiny brushes, and completed with hand made hardwood float frames. Eugene researches and prepares the images for tooling. Marjorie hand tools and paints the leather. Eugene finishes the work, and creates the hardwood float frames. We adapt our images from ancient manuscripts and objects found in libraries and museums worldwide. The work is created on leather using thousands of tiny tool marks, then painted with tiny brushes.
