David Lutrick - Fishbowl #3
The fish are made from padauk and constructed from four separate shapes, the oval body, two fins and the tail, glued together in a long piece. Three maple shapes were fitted length-wise and glued to the padauk core. Then the combined long piece was cut cross-wise into segments that were beveled on their sides and glued together to make a hoop with the fish profiles. The hoop was sandwiched between layers of veneers and sapele and glued to the upper and lower bowl sections turned from monkey puzzle wood. The fish were given an eye. The bowl is 9 inches in diameter and height. Pickup in Issaquah. $5 delivery within 30 miles or shipping $10.
