Lee H. Rentz - OUTPOST ON THE ATLANTIC
As in much of Newfoundland, red houses and fishermen’s shacks known as “stages” sit on rocky shores of the Atlantic Ocean. It is incredibly scenic, and many generations of fishermen have ventured out in the Atlantic from these little communities. Now the cod fishery has largely disappeared because of overfishing, but the lovely buildings and communities remain.
In this photograph your mind can see the red building as a bulwark of human presence against the vastness of nature.
