Lee H. Rentz - SWEETGUM LEAVES IN AUTUMN
I helped plant a Sweetgum tree as a teenager, and have loved the look of the branches and leaves ever since. It is a beautiful tree year round, but in autumn it really reaches is zenith of beauty as the leaves range in color from green to yellow to red to purple–with all colors on the same tree at the same time. For this photograph I chose to focus on a few leaves while letting the background drift into a dreamy wash of colors.
