This image was taken near the South Shetland Islands off the coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. A bergy bit is a small chunk of iceberg that is partially sticking out of the water. Looks are deceiving because there is a lot of iceberg still under the water. Our ship actually hit the bergy bit. There was a big thump but no damage to the ship.
