Lichenology - Ripple Effect Fir Necklace
Anyone who has spent time near a Douglas fir can speak to the humility that necessarily comes from being in the company of wise, old beings. May this piece keep you mindful of your place in the world and inspired to protect the integrity of this beautiful place.
This statement necklace is made from a branch of a naturally fallen Douglas fir, found near southern Puget Sound. The pendant holds a beautifully colorful and detailed rock posy lichen inlay from the Colorado Rockies. Yellow cotton stitching accentuates the gorgeous grain pattern and brings out the vivid yellows in the lichen specimen.
The pendant measures 2.25” wide by 1.25” tall. It is designed to sit just below the collarbone and hangs from a 15” of quadrupled sage green nylon tuff cord that secures with a nickel-free brass lobster clasp.
