Mabrie Ormes - All That Jazz
This is a reduction linoleum block print. The medium involves carving into a piece of linoleum and printing the first color. Once those prints are dry, I carve back into the same block and print a second color. This print involved 5 colors plus the white paper. The result of all this carving and printing is impossible to know. By its very nature, it is an improvisational medium, perfect for portraying the experience of listening to Jazz. The original drawings are made of musicians during live performances. The last color in All That Jazz was a golden metallic ink for the horn and bits on the guitar. The print measures 9x12 and is matted in acid-free materials (14x16). I include free shipping and expert packaging in the price of $250.
