Lynn Rosskamp - Great Blue Heron
The great blue heron is a frequent visitor to the skies and water in the Seattle area where I live. They look like pterodactyls flying over the city and I really think about their prehistoric dinosaur ancestors when I see them. They're wily and rapacious hunters and my mother's battles with them over her koi pond are a family legend (mylar string tied around the perimeter at bird shin height apparently is a fabulous solution to keeping them from skewering your beloved fish.) The image size is 8" x 12" (20 cm x 30 cm) on acid-free BFK Rives cotton rag paper that is 11" x 15" (28 cm x 38 cm).
