Slow craft, small batch, and artisan-made may be over used terms, but they’re accurate descriptors of what Beth Aimée does. Starting with simple materials: a sheet of metal, some wire, a pair of dividers and a jeweler’s saw, she begins to create, employing centuries-old silversmithing techniques. Beth’s pieces retain visual evidence of the work process. The hammer marks, the slight variations record a history of the process and tell a story of the work. These imperfections are testaments to the character of modern heirlooms, crafted by hand.
